1.1.30 What factors must be kept in mind when assembling an electric motor?

Please ensure that there is even support, a good foot or flange mounting, and an exact alignment for direct coupling. Avoid resonance with the rotational frequency and double the mains frequency. Rotate the rotors by hand and pay attention to unusual grinding noises. The direction of rotation in the uncoupled state must be checked. Output elements (belt pulley, coupling, etc.) should only be mounted or dismounted with suitable devices (heating!) and covered with a contact protection. Impermissible belt tensions are to be avoided. Suitable precautions must be taken against long-term exposure to dust, water, and solar radiation (e.g., surface protection). If the shaft end is upwards, the ingress of water along the shaft must be prevented.
