Gearbox Combinations

The helical-worm gear units are available in various rotation speeds, i.e., from 2-600 rpm (revolutions per minute). In many cases,
the helical-worm gear units and electric motor combinations are required to have special features to meet customer-specific requirements.
Our decades of experience paired with our in-house final assembly make us the ideal partner for this and allow us

to cover a wide range. This includes helical-worm gear units with brake motors, special shafts, helical-worm gear units with
three-phase motors including a forced cooling fan, slow-running gear units for BBQs, special voltages, or explosion-proof design.

Gear Motors - Size and Power

You can find a wide selection of helical-worm gear motors with various rotations in our online shop for gear motors.
All helical-worm gear units up to size 90 are made of aluminium while the larger series is made of die-cast.
The following sizes are available: 30, 40, 50, 63, 75, 80, 90 100, 110, 125, 130 and 150. These gearboxes are offered
with the following power output capacities: 0.12kW, 0.25kW, 0.37kW, 0.55kW, 0.75kW, 1.1kW, 1.5kW, 2.2kW, 3.0kW,
4kW, 5.5kW, 7.5kW and 11kW.


Shaft Diameters and Torques

The helical-worm gear units are available with hollow shafts in the following sizes: 14mm, 18mm, 20mm, 25mm, 28mm, 30mm,
35mm, 40mm, 45mm, and 50mm.

 

The torque output depends, among other things, on the motor power, efficiency, and output speed. By taking these points into
consideration, we supply helical-worm gear units in the range of 10-2000Nm. If the torque of the helical-worm gear unit
is not sufficient, we are happy to offer you a suitable helical-bevel gear unit.

 

 

Helical-Worm Gear - Construction

Helical-worm gear units (also referred to as angular gears) consist of a shaft with one or more threads, a worm gear,
and the worm wheel, which is a helical gear meshing with it. The axes of the two are offset by 90°.
Special areas of application for such gearboxes are those where high gear reductions are required in one step.
Left-handed and right-handed worm gear motors exist as both rotation directions are equally possible. The total flexibility
of the mounting options includes foot, flange, and centring solutions with torque support.
Self-locking occurs if the efficiency falls below 50%.

 
 

Helical-Worm Gear Unit - Installation

The gear motor can be installed in almost every required position. The mounting positions are designated M1, M2, M3,
M4, M5, and M6. You can find the explanatory data sheet for this in the article. The standard applications and requirements
can usually be covered. The low self-locking effect often has several advantages in many applications. However, self-locking
increases when the efficiency falls below approximately 50%.
