Spring-Applied Brakes for Electric Motors
Secure your drive technology with high-quality spring-applied brakes. We offer a wide range of braking solutions for precise and error-free operation in demanding industrial applications.
Electric motor with brake – Reliable safety in de-energized state
How the Electric Motor Brake Works
Our systems operate on the proven fail-safe principle: In a de-energized state, an integrated spring package generates the necessary braking effect. The electrically generated magnetic field pulls the armature plate across an air gap against the spring force, releasing the drive axis for rotation. This guarantees maximum safety during power failure or emergency stops.
Our Brake Systems at a Glance
DC Brakes (K-Series)
The K-Series is an extremely robust DC brake for locking mechanical shafts with the following features:
- Low-noise operation: Less than 70 dBA according to Directive 98/37/EC.
- Optimal heat dissipation: Cooling via the fan and motor cover made of cast iron or steel.
- Durability: Epoxy resin-bonded coils and galvanized mechanical parts for high protection.
- Efficiency: Quick and easy assembly of the entire brake group.
AC Brakes (AC-Series)
This series is designed for immediate stopping and excels through technical excellence:
- Robust construction: Structure made of high-quality die-cast aluminium.
- Easy mounting: Rapid integration of the compact brake unit.
- Low maintenance: High wear resistance of mechanical components.
Double Spring-Applied Brakes
These brakes are used wherever the highest safety requirements must be met, such as in elevator and stage technology. Two independently acting spring brakes ensure maximum fail-safety with special noise damping.
