Preventive Protection Against Overload and Short Circuit

A motor protective circuit breaker (MPCB) fulfills a critical double role: it acts as both thermal overload protection and electromagnetic short-circuit protection. If a motor draws more current than permitted due to mechanical blockages or excessive load, the integrated bimetal in the switch reacts and disconnects the circuit in time before the motor windings suffer permanent damage.
