Star-Delta Connection (YΔ)
The star-delta connection is a proven method for starting larger squirrel-cage three-phase motors with reduced power consumption. This prevents fuses from tripping due to high starting currents.
The process in detail:
- Star (Y): Start with only 1/3 of the power.
- Delta (Δ): Switching to full motor power after run-up.

Reversing switches for direction change
A three-phase reversing switch allows for direction reversal. By swapping two phases, the rotating field is changed, so that the motor starts in the opposite direction.
Safe disconnection from the mains
