SMARTdrive frequency inverters: Continuously variable electric motors
The high-efficiency SMARTdrive frequency inverters are the ideal solution for precise speed control in modern professional drive technology. Available in power classes 0.37 kW, 0.55 kW, 0.75 kW, 1.1 kW, 1.5 kW, 2.2 kW, 3.0 kW, 4 kW, 5.5 kW, 7.5 kW and 11 kW, these devices offer maximum flexibility. The continuously variable frequency inverters can be combined with almost all electric motors and geared motors in our range.
The installation flexibility is particularly advantageous: The SMARTdrive series is suitable for both wall mounting and near-motor installation. Using suitable adapter plates, the devices can be mounted directly onto the motor terminal box, which saves space and minimizes installation effort.
Technical information and highlights
Our SMARTdrive systems are based on a DSP-controlled high-tech concept and support state-of-the-art algorithms such as V/Hz, SENSORLESS VECTOR, CLV and PMM. Other features include:
- Easy commissioning through intelligent AUTOTUNING functions.
- Robust full metal housing with IP55/NEMA4 protection, thermally decoupled from the motor and vibration-resistant up to 4G.
- Configurable 4-line LCD display for maximum overview.
- Prepared for common fieldbus systems and universal use in retrofit applications.
- Integrated PID controller and standard EMC filter (optional C1 filter available).
- Extensive software tools for programming, control and diagnostics as well as a parameter copy stick.
Design and installation of the frequency inverter
The design of the SMARTdrive inverters is optimized for durability and easy maintenance. The housing consists of two halves:
- Base housing: Includes the mounting flange for direct attachment to the motor terminal box as well as the power terminals, the EMC filter and the capacitors.
- Housing cover: Houses the power board and the control board with removable control terminals. This design promotes optimal heat dissipation.
- Ease of use: The removable control panel is integrated directly into the cover and allows quick access to all parameters.
