1.1.17 What does operating mode S6 mean for circular saw motors?
Operating mode S6 , duty cycle ED=40%, operating time 10 min. The motor may run under load for 4 minutes and must then cool down for 6 minutes at idle, otherwise overheating would occur. Short-term operation can be converted into continuous operation.
Here is a corresponding overview of the nominal operating modes:
| Abbreviation | Description | M-/P-diagram | required additional information |
|---|---|---|---|
| S1 | Continuous operation with constant load |
| S2 | Short-term operation | |
| S3 | Periodic intermittent operation | |
| S4 | Periodic intermittent operation with the influence of the start-up process |
| S5 | Periodic intermittent operation with the influence of the start-up process and electric braking |
| S6 | Continuous periodic operation | |
| S7 | Continuous periodic operation with electric braking |
| S8 | Continuous periodic operation with load and speed changes |
| S9 | Operation with non-periodic load and speed changes | |
| S10 | Operation with individual constant loads |
