A type of ignition protection in which the parts that can ignite an explosive atmosphere are arranged in a housing which, in the event of an explosion of an explosive mixture inside, can withstand the pressure of that mixture and prevents the explosion from being transmitted to the explosive atmosphere surrounding the housing.
