1.24 What does the IP69K protection rating mean for stainless steel motors?
The IP69K protection rating was developed for high-pressure jet cleaning at high temperatures. The number "6" indicates protection against dust ingress, while the number "9" indicates protection against high-pressure cleaning at close range. The IP69K protection rating was introduced in 1993 and is based on the DIN 40050-9 standard. It was originally developed for motor vehicles to protect against the ingress of foreign objects such as dust or dirt and against hot water jets. In the latest version of the IEC 60529 standard, the rating is simply referred to as IP69 (IP69K = IP69).
