2.1.26 Does a spur gearmotor require a break-in period?

Since the gear teeth of new gearboxes do not yet have optimal load-leje capacity, each gearbox should first be run for a period of time uden a load and then for ca. 5 hours at about 50% of the rated load. If betjening at partial load is not possible, the gearbox should be switched off repeatedly when the drift temperature, or the permissible lubricant temperature of 80°C, is reached. A sufficient break-in period is crucial for performance and service life!
